Q: What is the Resident Center?
A: The Resident Center is the portal you have access to once you become a tenant with The Rental Association. Once you are logged in you can submit maintenance request, pay rent (via eft/debit/credit card), communicate with the staff, view your rent ledger, and more.
Q: When is rent due?
A: Unless your lease specifies otherwise rent is due on the 1st of each month. It is your responsibility to make sure it is on time. You can mail it, drop it off, pay online, and even set up recurring payments to ensure it will not be late.
Q: What happens if I'm late on my rent?
A: You have a grace period until the 5th to have your rent in. This gives you a little buffer in case of holidays, weekends, or if you just forgot to send before the 1st. However, if the rent is not received between the 1st and the 5th you will incur late fees and in some cases be subject to eviction.
Q: What happens if I received an eviction notice?
A: If you receive eviction notices you need to make sure to contact our office to see what can be done to remedy the situation if at all possible. Once the process has begun you will normally have legal fees to pay in addition to past due rent and/or late fees that will be added to your account.
Q: What happens when the court has granted an eviction?
A: Once an eviction is granted you normally have 24 hours to move completely out of the property. If after that time you are still occupying the property, the marshal's office will come to remove you and allow us to remove all of your belongings so we can take back possession of the property.
Q: What do I need to do if I plan to move out of a property?
A: Unless your lease states otherwise you will need to submit at least a 30-day notice in writing to The Rental Association in order to be eligible to receive your deposit back. If you are moving out prior to your lease term expiring, you will need to reach out to the office for options available. Both a pdf and digital version are available on this website for your convenience.
Q: Can I pay my rent in advance?
A: Yes, you can always pay ahead of time if you wish.
Q: Can I pay my rent weekly or every two weeks?
A: Yes, you can pay your rent at any time you would like that works for you. The only requirement is that you have your rent paid up and current on the 1st of each month. So, you cannot pay weekly for a past due amount, but you can pay weekly or bi-weekly ahead of time so it will be paid in full and current by the 1st of each month. If you have any question or need help setting up extra payments just reach out to our office.
